I specialize in edge to edge long arm machine quilting. I grew up on a farm and spent a lot of time with my grandmother making quilts on her Singer treadle sewing machine and going to the community quilting bees. I was fortunate to inherit lots of finished quilts and quilt tops, which I have finished and I cherish each and every one. I would love to finish your quilt for you.
Pricing
Pricing is based on the size of your quilt and the complexity of the pattern. We charge by the square inch as follows:
- Edge to Edge Pattern*: $0.025 per square inch
- Basic design over your entire quilt
- Ex. A 70 inch by 70 inch quilt would be 4900 square inches, multiplied by $0.025 comes to $122.50 to quilt, which includes the batting material.
- Semi-Custom Pattern*: $0.03 – $0.05 per square inch
- Combination of simple overall design with custom borders, or individually quilted blocks
- Bobbin Charge: $2 per bobbin
- Ex. A 70 inch by 70 inch quilt for a basic edge to edge pattern would use approximately 6 bobbins, so $12 for the bobbin charge.
- Binding Options:
- $25 for baby quilts hand sewn
- $30 for throw to queen size hand sewn
Preparing for quilting
- Trim all excess threads from both sides of your finished quilt top
- Provide backing fabric and make sure your backing fabric is at least 4-6 inches larger on all sides than your quilt top. If backing is pieced, make sure to press the seam open
- Press all of the seams of the quilt top thoroughly prior to folding quilt top for shipping
Note: We require all quilt top and backing fabric to be 100% cotton. Requests to quilt other materials will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
A $45 deposit is required on all orders which will be deducted from your total cost.
